Katy has done a variety of photo shoots for our family. We are always super pleased and always have too many to choose from, which is a good problem to have. She is great with our son and he can even pick her out in a crowd! She's the best and we love working with her. It's great to have a photographer that can be there for all of life's surprises. A Few Fun Facts to help you get to know me!
Thank you for coming to my site and starting here. I am sure you have lots of questions about sessions with KSP. You’ll be able to find any and all of that information here, throughout my site! I’ll guide you through the entire experience you’ll receive with Katy Short Photography and if I left anything out please feel free to reach out to me at any time!
I live in Mooresville NC, just north of Charlotte. I am a natural light, mostly outdoor photographer that specializes in all things family, from babies just born to the day they get married and everything in-between. My style is relaxed, natural, relational and bright with pops of color. I try to always focus on the love and laughter that I see through my lens! My favorite moments are when I am outside and can capture photos with lots of bokeh (boy-kuh, that blurry background) and amazing light shining through to make my photos feel dreamy, timeless and special. I offer a custom tailored photography session unlike anything in the Mooresville/ Lake Norman area. I offer both digital photos and collections that include fine art products like albums, canvases and reclaimed wood frames.
I am a wife to an amazing handy man, mother of four amazing little humans (three girls and a boy), sister to two older siblings, and a daughter of parents, whom I give credit for everything I am. I am blessed with the most amazing husband that encourages me into new areas that I probably wouldn't have walked into on my own.
Growing up, my sister was the creative one and I was the logical/practical one, always going to her for the “vision"! Once I got married and started my own family, I finally realized that I also had the creative gift that I always envied my sister for having. Let me tell you that whole "nesting while pregnant" is a real thing, and to my pleasant surprise, it brought out my creativity in full force!!!
Photography became my way to thank people for special things they had done for me and my family. From there, it has grown into a business for which I am truly thankful. Each chance I am given to freeze a moment of anyone’s life in time brings me so much joy.
My mission is to be able to capture God's grace and light in you in such a way that it causes people to be drawn to your images again and again. By offering customized photography sessions based on your vision, it is my goal to capture your personality and connections with those you love. I hope to encourage you to realize your achievement as a family and the blessings you have through each and every photo
My Faith is a large part of who I am. The photos above are some of the baptism photos I have had the honor of taking while serving at our church. As a foundation of my business I have committed a set dollar amount of each session to be paid forward to help others.
Matthew 5:16 is one of my favorite verses, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” I truly believe we all have a God-given light and it's up to each of us as to how bright we let it shine. It is my goal in taking your picture to capture your brightest light!
